Carport Roof Specifications

Roof is installed under a home roof, an eaves-trough must be installed on the house to avoid significant amounts of water or snow being dumped on the roof from the house.

The Kit includes a track and a roof receiver extrusion to accept the roof panels, which is installed on the home. The roof is made of 1 pound expanded polystyrene vacuum pressed to .024″ stucco embossed aluminium skin on both sides. The aluminium has a powder coated white paint finish. The thickness of the insulated roof varies from 3″-6″ depending on the length of the roof projection and the customer’s needs. The greater the thickness of the roof, the greater the strength and the higher the insulation value. The roof panels are 4′ wide and are joined by an extrusion which forms an “I” beam for greater strength

A “U” shaped extrusion is placed under the roof on the opposite side to where the roof is attached to the home. This extrusion provides additional structural support for the roof. In addition aluminium posts are attached to this extrusion every 8 feet.

The Kit comes with a gutter for the front and fascia for the sides.

All parts in the kit are made of rust resistant aluminium.

Minimum Roof Slope Requirements

Calculation of minimum roof slope requirements for an Insulated Aluminium Hard Roof for your patio, balcony or carport.

In order to have proper water run-off from the roof a minimum slope is required. This slope is determined by measuring the height (A) where you would like to connect the roof to your home or trailer and the desired height at the opposite side (B). Then calculate the difference between the two (D). Projection is the distance (C) one would walk away from the house or trailer to which the roof is attached.
